The Whispers of Three: A Day Woven with Strange Coincidences

Some mornings begin with a feeling—a strange hunch that today, something is different.

For one man, that feeling began at 3 AM.

He woke up suddenly, glanced at the clock, and noted the time. 3 o’clock.
Oddly enough, it was the third time he’d woken up that night.

Still groggy, he shuffled to the kitchen for a glass of water and happened to glance at the calendar. March 3rd. That’s the third day of the third month.

Now fully awake, he chuckled to himself.
“Three is definitely following me around today,” he mumbled.

Later that morning, the strangeness continued. He had three unexpected guests, each showing up with a surprise gift.
Nothing major—some sweets, a potted plant, a book.
But still… three guests. Three gifts. On the third of the third month. After waking up at 3.

The coincidence was getting hard to ignore.

As he sipped his tea, curiosity nudged him toward the day’s newspaper. Flipping through the pages, he landed on the horse racing column. He wasn’t a gambler by habit, but today? Well, today felt different.

And there it was—staring back at him as if fate had placed it there just for him:

A horse named Trio running in the third race of the day.

It was too perfect.

Without hesitation, he dashed to the bank, withdrew his savings, and placed a massive bet on Trio to win.

He waited with bated breath as the race unfolded, heart pounding with each stride of the horses. The crowd roared. The finish line approached.

And then…

Trio finished. In third place.

Not first.
Not second.
Third.

He stood there stunned, speechless at first, and then... slowly, a smile spread across his face.

“Well,” he muttered, “I guess three really was my lucky number... just not in the way I expected.”

Reflection:

Sometimes life gives us signs. Patterns. Coincidences that feel too precise to ignore. But as this story reminds us, even when the universe seems to be winking at us, it’s still wise to think before we leap.

Trust your gut, yes—but don’t leave your brain behind.

Because luck might be a number…
But wisdom is knowing how to use it.
